My Story: From Exhaustion to Empowerment in Menopause

A Turning Point in My Menopause Journey

I remember a quiet morning, sitting alone at home, feeling unwell and disconnected from myself. In that stillness, I realised I couldn’t continue this way. Exhaustion, burnout, and self-doubt had taken over, and I was losing sight of the woman I used to be.

Life on the Surface vs. Reality

On the surface, my life looked complete: a loving husband, a beautiful home in Surrey, a flourishing career, an active social life, and even a health club membership. But behind closed doors, I was struggling. Despite eating carefully and exercising regularly, my weight crept up. My energy was gone, anxiety and forgetfulness clouded my days, and self-doubt became a constant companion.

Emotional Turmoil: Anxiety, Sleepless Nights, and Mood Changes

Night after night, I battled waves of anxiety and fear. Day after day, I faced unpredictable moods, overwhelm, and exhaustion. These changes in my mental and physical health began affecting my relationships with my husband, family, and friends. I felt invisible, lost, and alone.

The First Brave Step: Prioritising Self-Care

One morning, I made a life-changing decision. I turned down a career promotion, stepped back from work, and gave myself six months purely for self-care. During that time, I searched for answers—reading, listening, and watching anything that could help me understand menopause symptoms and how to cope.

Finding Support Through a Menopause Coach

That’s when I discovered Adele, the Menopause Coach, on Spotify. Her honest, compassionate words made me feel seen and understood. Inspired, I spoke to my GP and was prescribed a low dose of HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy). Almost immediately, I felt relief—my mind cleared, and I finally felt a sense of hope.

Beyond HRT: Reclaiming Balance and Confidence

I soon realised I needed more than HRT. I wanted to truly understand my body, my sleep, my lifestyle, and how to rebuild my confidence. I began working with Adele as my menopause coach for eight months. Through her guidance, I learned to listen to my body, manage my symptoms, and slowly rebuild my energy and sense of self. It wasn’t always easy, but every step brought me closer to balance and wellbeing.

Discovering Purpose: Supporting Women Through Menopause

This journey transformed me. I found a new purpose: to ensure that no woman feels alone, confused, or invisible during menopause. Support, education, and compassion are vital. When women have the right guidance, they can thrive—not just survive—this stage of life.
