Hello, I'm Costantina

My Story

My story is nothing extraordinary. Like so many women, I began going through physical, emotional and cognitive changes that I hadn’t been prepared for and didn’t fully understand.

My sleep was becoming more disrupted, my confidence was slipping, my moods were changing, and I was noticing a difference in the way I related to my family, my friends and my personal life.

A Journey Through Three Chapters

Before the full story, here is where it began, where it turned, and where it led.

The Turning Point

The Search for Answers

My sleep was becoming more disrupted, my confidence was slipping, my moods were changing, and I was noticing a difference in the way I related to my family, my friends and my personal life.

I kept asking myself questions.

Why was my body changing? What was going on with my sleep? Why was it becoming so unpredictable? Why was I reacting differently to the people around me? Why was it becoming harder to manage things I had always coped with before?

I felt overwhelmed much of the time, although I had become very good at hiding it.

At that point, I had no real understanding that perimenopause could be behind so much of what was happening.

I remember one morning very clearly. I was sitting with my coffee, deep in thought, asking myself, What is it that I need? What do I want?

I was working extremely hard, constantly on the go and trying to keep up with everything. I had multiple projects at work, renovations happening at home, and I was studying for a diploma in property investment. I had always been someone who could manage a busy life and a long list of responsibilities, but suddenly it was becoming much harder.

That morning became a turning point.

At the time, I had been offered a promotion and the opportunity to progress further in my career. Instead, I made the decision to leave my managerial role at the Taj Spa Hotel and take six months away from my career.

When I handed in my two months’ notice, the relief was almost immediate. It was as though something had lifted, and I knew I had made the right decision for me at that point in my life.

The break did me the world of good. My stress levels began to come down, but many of the difficulties I had been dealing with remained.

My sleep was still very disrupted. I was waking at around 2 a.m. almost every night, often with anxiety. I was usually able to go back to sleep, but the fear of going to bed knowing that I might wake again at 2 a.m. became very strong.

I was 47 at the time, and I began wondering whether this could be related to my hormones. I went to see my doctor, who suggested antidepressants. He felt that I was extremely stressed and possibly becoming depressed.

But I knew that wasn’t quite what was happening to me. I was certainly burnt out, but I didn’t believe I was depressed.

I genuinely didn’t know what was going on.

So I started looking for answers.

Something clicked.

She seemed to know me.

I listened to every podcast I could find on the subject. I read, researched and searched for information wherever I could. Gradually, I began to recognise myself in what I was hearing and reading — the broken sleep, hot flushes, heavy periods, brain fog, anxiety, loss of confidence and that sense of somehow losing part of myself and my identity.

But finding clear information wasn’t easy. It took me years of searching, listening and trying to understand what was happening before I came across one particular podcast. She seemed to be describing exactly what I had been going through and, for the first time, things began to make sense.

I contacted her and began working with her as my menopause coach. I continued working with her for around eight months, and it turned out to be exactly what I needed at that stage of my life.

Around the same time, I also made the decision to start HRT. For me personally, it was one of the best decisions I made. I noticed a major improvement in my memory and brain fog, my mood and motivation, as well as many of the physical and emotional difficulties I had been dealing with.

But I also knew that HRT wasn’t the whole answer for me. I needed someone who could guide me through the wider changes I was going through, help me understand what was happening and support me in finding ways to look after myself through this stage of my life.

That was an important part of why working with a menopause coach made such a difference to me.

Over those months, I made real progress. I began to regain my confidence, understand myself better and feel more grounded in what was happening to me.

That journey also made me think about my own direction.

Throughout my working life, I had always been drawn towards healthcare, health and wellbeing and working with people. I realised that this was an area I genuinely wanted to take further.

That was when I decided to train as a menopause coach and later as a sleep coach.

And that is really my story.

Nothing extraordinary, just a woman like so many other women, trying to understand what was happening to her and searching for the right support and information.

What began as my own search for answers eventually became part of the work I do today.

The Work Behind My Work

The Experience and Training Behind My Work

My background in healthcare and holistic wellbeing, together with my own experience of menopause, gave me a strong desire to deepen my understanding of the changes women can go through during this stage of life — particularly the impact on sleep, emotions, cognitive function and everyday wellbeing.

This led me to specialise in menopause and sleep and to become The Menopause Sleep Coach. Menopause and sleep are closely connected, and changes during the hormonal transition can have a significant impact on how women sleep and function during the day.

Certified & Endorsed

My Menopause Certification is endorsed by a menopause doctor, deepening my knowledge of hormonal transition and how it can affect sleep throughout perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause.

Bringing It All Together

I take a holistic approach, looking not only at menopause and sleep, but also at lifestyle, stress, daily habits and mind-body wellbeing.
